White House Community Conversations with Boston area youth. Creative freedom a hot topic in this room.
“I feel like our schools can show how being creative can contribute to society in a positive way instead of discouraging it.” The students are mentioning things like being “forced to be like a cog or machine,” not having an opportunity to “think outside of the box, taking chances, making mistakes,” and always being told “there’s a right way.”
Another question was, “What makes a good life?”
Creativity, passion, family…money has not been mentioned once.
Really inspired by some of the comments here. They show a real passion for their community and desire to impact it.
